What is Capture (or Settlement)?

Is the process that occurs once a customer makes a payment using either a credit or a debit card. The transaction is being captured and sent to their issuing bank. Transaction settlement is the process by which the merchant receives the corresponding amount after a shopper has bought a service or a product. The transaction information is sent to the merchant’s payment processor via the customer’s issuing bank.
